THE FESTIVITY OF 18TH ASIAN GAMES 2018

Indonesian badminton great Susi Susanti, the Olympic women’s single champion in 1992, lit the Games cauldron and the ceremony closed with a noisy music performance and spectacular fireworks.

Jakarta will host more than 15 sports, such as archery and basketball. The sports are set to be competed in five sport sites in Jakarta. They are Gelora Bung Karno sport complex, Istora Senayan – all in South Jakarta, Britama Basketball Arena in North Jakarta, as well as Jakarta International Equestrian Park and Rawamangun Velodrome in East Jakarta. With a glad, Indonesia proudly present athlete who won a medally for this games,  Indonesian wushu athlete Edgar Xavier Marvelo grabbed the first medal for the country at the 18th Asian Games, after finishing second in the men’s changquan competition held at Jakarta International Expo on Sunday.

Lindswell Kwok of Indonesia won the first wushu gold for the host at the 2018 Asian Games in women’s Taijiquan and Taijijian Combined here on Monday (Aug 20).

Defia Rosmaniar produced Indonesia’s first gold medal in their home Asian Games and instantly became toast of the social media in her country on Sunday (Aug 19). The 23-year-old taekwondo athlete scored 8.690 to pip Iran’s Marjan Salahshouri (8.470) to the gold in women’s individual poomsae event, triggering wild celebration at the Plenary Hall of the Jakarta Convention Centre.
